Personal Attention

Foundations Christian Montessori Academy’s low student to teacher ratio allows teachers to write lessons plans that continually challenge each student’s abilities.

Our school’s unique structure allows each student the optimal opportunity for independent learning and individual advancement.

Foreign Language and Culture

As part of the Montessori philosophy, we believe that children need to understand that they are a part of a diverse and global world. Foreign language and cultural awareness are becoming an increasingly part of being successful.

At Foundations Christian Montessori Academy students have the opportunity to participate in foreign language study during dedicated time in the morning work cycles. Our Spanish class introduces the Spanish language to beginning students from K-8th Grade.

During the 60 -90 minute work session, students will learn numbers, the alphabet, parts of speech, expressions, days and months, colors, food, animals, clothes, parts of the body, as well as family and community words in Spanish. This is an opportunity allows students to have fun learning a very useful language.

The students will participate in games, activities and songs based on the lessons. These activities help students recall the meanings and pronunciations of words and phrases while having fun speaking Spanish. These activities are useful tools to help reinforce what the students have learned. Some examples of songs are:

  • Community Song
  • Diez Amigos
  • Family Song
  • Los Dias De La Semana
  • Colors Song

Benefits to the Student

  • Improves the child’s reading skills, English comprehension and math standardized test
  • Provides the ability to communicate in more than one language.
  • Develops creativity and problem solving skills.
  • Develops an appreciation for other cultures.

Cultural Experiences

Cultural experiences are incorporated into the daily work of each student and highlighted by our special presentations like the annual “Christmas Around the World” and “Mystery History”.

Extracurricular Activities

Students at Foundations Christian Montessori Academy have the opportunity to discover and develop their interests in the Arts. Our Visual Performing Arts program offers specialty classes including ballroom, percussion, bells, choir, theater, praise band. In addition to these special programs, music, dance, visual art, physical education, holiday activities, and special performances are provided throughout the school year. These fun activities not only aid in the development of the child as a whole, but are what make Foundations Christian Montessori Academy a fun, happy, family oriented, and exciting place to be.

Beautiful Indoor & Outdoor Environments

Foundations Christian Montessori Academy is located on a 60+ acre campus. Our current programs currently occupy over 35,000 square feet of dedicated educational space including classrooms, auditorium, science lab, music room, art room, dance studio, library, kitchen, and media center. Our beautiful campus also includes a competitive playing field and a large playground for students of all ages.

Security

The safety and security of our students and staff are of utmost importance at Foundations Christian Montessori Academy. Our campus remains in lock down at all times. Every visitor to our school is permitted access ONLY after they have submitted photo identification to be processed through our Raptor security system, and ONLY with administrative approval.

All faculty and staff of Foundations Christian Montessori Academy have received Level 2 clearance from local, State, and National background screening agencies.

An Excellent Alternative to Public Education

It has been stated by our very own U.S. Secretaries of Education that our system of public education is on the decline, even throughout all the standardizing efforts and increase in school budgets. Our Foundations Christian Montessori Academy families have chosen our school not only for our academic challenging environments, but more for the tender care their children receive while in our care.

Invest in your child’s future. Your child will be profoundly affected by the decision you make. This is a gift for a lifetime of learning.

The Montessori Method

Montessori education is an educational approach developed by Italian physician and educator Maria Montessori. Although a range of practices exist under the name “Montessori”, all Montessori schools cite these elements as essential:

  • Mixed age classrooms
  • Student choice of activity from within a prescribed range of options
  • Uninterrupted blocks of work time
  • A constructivist or “discovery” model, where students learn concepts from working with materials, rather than by direct instruction
  • Specialized educational materials developed by Montessori and her collaborators
  • Freedom of movement within the classroom
